POEMS OF THE 2020 QUARANTINE: ISOLATION OUTLAW

I wrote these poems the way most of us got through 2020 — one strange, quiet day at a time, with nowhere to go and a lot more time than usual to sit with my own head.

Isolation Outlaw isn't a polished, distant look back at the quarantine. It's what it actually felt like while it was happening — the boredom, the low-grade dread, the small moments of unexpected clarity that only show up when the whole world stops moving at once. If you lived through that year, some of these will feel less like poems and more like something you already thought and never wrote down.
